5 Herts Players in Home Internationals

5 Herts Players in Home Internationals

This year has seen five players from Hertfordshire representing England and Scotland in the Home Internationals.

Hertfordshire Squash was well represented in the Home Internationals held in Galway last weekend with our players returning home undefeated.

In a successful weekend for England, Broxbourne’s Keith Timms captained the Over 35s team including Berkhamsted’s Ali Coker to victory, which was achieved after a nail-biting win over Ireland and their home crowd in the final game!

Harpenden’s Eamonn Price played at Number 1 for the Over 55s who also won their age category.

Hertfordshire League players Alex Preston (Over 35) and Darren Withey (Over 55 Captain) from Tring were also on the England teams, albeit with ill-fitting jackets!

For the ladies Mhairi Gritz from Nuffield St Albans represented Scotland in Womens O35/40 competition which was held in Cardiff.  England the overall winners but Mhairi winning 2 out of three of her matches.

This weekend Louisa Dalwood represented the England O45 team in Edinburgh. A great achievement coming back from knee injury throughout the season.   Louisa won two out of three of her matches losing against Scotland in an extremely tight match 3-2.
