This year Herts entered a men’s O50’s team into the intercounty setup.
Herts hosted the event at Broxbourne Sports Club. The event bought Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire to the party. Herts started the day off against Oxford. With Gary Spindler setting the early pace with a 3-0 win at #5 the signs looked good. David Wells worked hard and ground out a 3-2 win at #3. Mark Blake kept the ball rolling with a 3-0 at #4. This left Eamonn Price and Marvin Rust at #1&2 respectively. Both came thru with ease giving Herts an emphatic
5-0 win.
The second of Herts games was much tighter. It bought together old rivals Bucks. However with only 4 players they were up against it, Dennis Arthur was drafted in at #4, he had a tough game and managed to squeeze home 3-2. David Wells again had an epic game taking it 9/7 in the 5th. Eamonn Price dispatched of Darren Withey 3-0 leaving Marvin Rust the last player, only on this occasion his player was too good , and Mark Treadwell took the match 3-0.
Overall the day was good for Herts with 5-0 and 4-1 wins. This sets us nicely for the promotional weekend in January … Watch this space!!!!
