The Ladies inter county matches were held over the weekend of 8/9th November at the Cumberland Club in London.
Our team on Saturday was Grace Gear, Ali Hemingway, Amber Marshall, Isobel Smith and Laura Taylor. Great news for Hertfordshire to have three young players in the team.
Our first match was against Sussex, Ali and Laura went on first, unfortunately Laura was taken out by a rugby tackle in the first game and never recovered (I thought squash was a non contact sport!) she lost 3-0 and Ali who came back to 2 – 2 having been 2-0 down unfortunately lost 3-2. Next on was Isobel and Amber. Isobel was hit on the nose with a racket but fortunately managed to get back on court and win 3-2 but unfortunately Amber lost 3-1. Grace, last to go on but managed played a great game to win 3-1 . Herts lost 3-2.

In the afternoon we were up against Suffolk another hard fought match but Herts managed to win
3-2.

For our final match on Sunday Julie Ann Pegram and come into the team in place of Laura. However unfortunately Ali was unwell and unable to play and we therefore only had 4 players for the match against Middlesex. Some great performances again particularly by Grace and Amber but unfortunately we lost 3-2 and came third overall in the weekend.
