This year has seen seven, yes seven players from Hertfordshire representing England and Scotland in the Home Internationals.

In order to be selected to play for your country you have to compete on the Masters Circuit playing in the Nationals in February or the British Open in June plus one or two of the other regional events held every season.    The player obtains points for each competition depending on their placing.    The top five players are invited to play for their country.

Hertfordshire Squash was well represented in the Home Internationals held in Dublin, Edinburgh Nottingham and Cardiff.

On the first weekend Louisa Dalwood (Nuffield)  and Libby Montgomery (Harpenden)  travelled to Dublin to play for the England O45, Louisa captaining the team again.   England won all three of their matches and were crowned champions again.   Ali Coker (Berkhamstead) represented the Mens O45 team and was also on the winning side.

The next weekend was held in Nottingham where Mhairi Gritz (Nuffield)  represented Scotland in O35/40.   Although Scotland did not win Mhairi put in some great performances.    In the Mens O60 Teejay Sogunro (Nuffield)  was part of the winning team for England.

Last weekend the Home Internationals were held in Edinburgh.    Isobel Smith (Nuffield) represented the O55 who won all their matches and Harpenden’s Eamonn Price played for the  O55s who also won their age category with a clean sweep of matches.
