Herts Ladies O40 Team – Inter County – Premier League – 13/10/13
Their first match was against the hosts and Laura Taylor and Julie Ann Pegram were first on court. Great performances by both players got Herts of to a good start, Laura winning 3-0 and Julie Ann winning 3-1. Next on court were Isobel Smith and Lesley Garner. Isobel lost 3-1 but Lesley (who has only set foot on a court a handful of times over the last year!) played an amazing game and won her match 3-1! Maureen Morrison played another strong player at two and lost 3-0. Herts beat Berkshire 3-2.
The next match was against Surrey and followed straight on from the first match, which can be quite tough. Again Laura had a great game but this time lost 3-2 and Julie Ann lost 3-1. Isobel managed to get a game of very experienced Isabelle Tweedle but lost 3-1 and Lesley couldn’t repeat her morning glory and lost 3-1. Maureen, although having a tight game lost 3-0. Unfortunately a 5-0 loss to Surrey. Berkshire went on to beat Surrey in the afternoon match 3-2 so unfortunately Herts came third on points but hopefully this can be rectified at the next weekend.
