Alison Waters, who trains with Paul Carter at Potter’s Bar, collected her third National Squash Title by defeating reigning champion Laura Massaro at the National Squash Centre, Manchester on Sunday 17th February. |

In total the East region was represented by 13 players from our 6 counties with an impressive 7 from Essex.
In the Ladies Main draw Lauren Selby (Essex), the World No. 45, progressed to the Last 16 before falling to Emma Beddoes, the World No. 31.
Meanwhile, 17 year old Anna Kimberley (Essex), the East Region U19 Champion and No.6 in the country, progressed to the second qualifying round before losing to Victoria Temple Murray, the World No. 113.
In the Mens Main draw, Peter Barker (Essex) was the stand out performer. The World No. 8 fell to James Willstrop, the World No.3 in a five set thriller of a semi final. Daryl Selby (Essex), the 2011 British National Champion lost to World No. 12, Tom Richards in the quarter finals.
Adrian Waller (Herts), the World No. 37 progressed to the Last 16 before losing to Adrian Grant, the World No. 17. Finally Ben Coleman (Essex) the World No. 91 lost to Robbie Temple, the World No. 63.
Rory Pennell (Essex),Nick Mulvey (Herts), Youseff Abdallah (Essex), Elliot Selby (Essex), Charlie Johnson (Herts), Robert Dadds (Cambs) and ESR Young Coach of the Year Dan McGinn (Cambs) all played in the qualifying rounds, but failed to progress to the main competition.
